VITAL MATERIALS (“Vital”) announces that in the Three Gorges in March, the sky is high, the clouds are pale, and all the flowers are blooming. In this promising season, Weike Saile Microelectronics Co., Ltd., a high-tech company jointly invested by Guangdong Vital Materials Co., Ltd. and Chongqing Wanlin Investment Development Co., Ltd., held a grand commissioning ceremony on the morning of March 28, 2019. Weike Saile Microelectronics Co., Ltd., with its industrial layout of semiconductor wafer, material epitaxy, chip manufacturing process, test packaging and product application, is the only enterprise in China that has integrated VCSEL device structure design, epitaxy material growth and chip process, and has realized mass production.
Nearly 300 people attended the event, including Gong Chenghe, executive deputy secretary general of the China Semiconductor Industry Association, Shi Ying, secretary general of the IC Components Industry Alliance, Bai Wennong, director of the Standing Committee of Wanzhou District People’s Congress, Luo Nengping, chairman of the District Political Consultative Conference, Pu Chengming, member of the Standing Committee of the District Committee and executive deputy district head, Zeng Bin, Li Zhongyun and Luo Gaoyan, deputy director of the Management Committee of Wanzhou Economic Development Zone, as well as relevant departments of Wanzhou District and Wanzhou Economic Development Zone, invited guests, and Zhu Shihui, chairman of the Guangdong Vital Materials Co., Ltd., management and employees of Weike Saile.
The commissioning ceremony was presided over by Li Zhongyun, deputy director of the Management Committee. Zhu Shihui, Gong Chenghe and Pu Chengming delivered speeches, respectively. Zhu Shihui, chairman of the Guangdong Vital Materials Co., Ltd., spoke on behalf of the enterprise. In his speech, he said that the project of semiconductor chip industrialization would become the strategic highland of the semiconductor business division of Vital Group; and that based on semi-insulating substrate materials and optical communication chips, we would further expand to semiconductor devices and modules, further extend the industrial chain, increase the added value of products, and enhance the core competitiveness of the enterprise. Gong Chenghe, executive deputy secretary general of the China Semiconductor Industry Association, put forward great expectations to Vital in his speech. He hoped Vital could firmly grasp the rapid development opportunities brought by the upgrading and transformation of semiconductor industry, concentrate superior resources, improve competitive advantages and industry status, and take root in Wanzhou to achieve sound and rapid development. Entrusted by Mo Gongming, party secretary of the District Committee, Pu Chengming expressed his congratulations on the commissioning of the Weike Saile semiconductor chip industrialization project on behalf of the District Committee, the District People’s Congress, the District Government, the District Political Consultative Conference, and Wanzhou Economic Development Zone. In his speech, he said that under the joint care of the two sides, the project has come to fruition and put into production successively today. We firmly believe that with the sincere cooperation and joint efforts of the two sides, the company and the project will surely expand its branches and grow stronger in the well-loved place of Wanzhou, surely promote the accelerated agglomeration and development of Wanzhou intelligent manufacturing industry, especially the lighting industry, and inject new momentum into the high-quality development of Wanzhou. At last, the relevant leaders of Wanzhou District and Wanzhou Economic Development Zone, guests and 13 members of Vital’s management put their hands on the big screen at the same time and jointly issued the initiation instruction. The commissioning started successfully!
After the commissioning ceremony, leaders and guests, accompanied by chairman Zhu Shihui, visited the exhibition hall and production workshop of Weike Saile Microelectronics Co., Ltd. Everyone was full of praise for advanced process equipment, high-tech products and high-end applications. The completion and commissioning of this project will realize the localization of high-quality substrate materials and optical communication chips, greatly enhance the production capacity and technical level of national optical communication chips, break the domestic dilemma of long-term dependence on imports of high-end semi-insulating substrate materials and optical communication chips, and thus master the important equipment in our own hands.
